Children's health preventive tips
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, children should see a doctor for preventive health care visits regularly, starting at the age of three months. The next health care visit should be at the age of six months, with subsequent appointments at 12, 15, 18, 24 and 30 months, and then at three, four, five, six, eight and 10 years. After that, it is usually up to the doctor for how often a child will need to come back.
The following is a list of four health tips for children that will help keep them strong and healthy. Establishing healthy habits in children is highly recommended, as when children are taught at a young age how to take care of themselves, they will take these helpful habits into their adult years.
#1. Food choices
Children need to eat foods high in nutrition, as this helps ensure that they are getting their nutritional daily requirements met. It is also important that they are served just the right amount of food, as eating too much food can lead to childhood obesity.
#2. Being physically active
It is essential for children to be active each and every day. In order for them not to get bored, they should choose a number of different activities to do and then alternate as they see fit.
#3. Brush and floss every day
Children need to gently brush their teeth twice a day with a soft-bristled toothbrush and gently floss their teeth at least once a day in order to remove any food particles they may have missed when brushing.
#4. Good hygiene
Children should understand good hygiene practices, e.g., washing hands often to prevent spreading germs, etc.
